At Saucy Lips, all of our sauces are made with fresh ingredients making them great substitutes in recipes for some of their listed ingredients. For example, in an Asian inspired recipe, you can substitute ginger with our Jalapeño Green Apple Sauce because that sauce contains ginger. Or, If you see a recipe requires sesame seed oil, our Pineapple Thai flavor could work as a replacement.
For the following recipe, We used the @Whole30 "Beef and Broccoli” recipe from their Fast and Easy Cookbook for inspiration. For those who have the book, check the recipe (page 69) and experiment with our sauces to create your own version! For those who don’t have the book, or those of you who want to trust our taste buds, here is our Saucy version of the recipe :
3 Tbsp of Jalapeño green apple sauce
3 Tbsp of Pineapple Thai sauce
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1 Tbsp of EVO
4 cloves of garlic pressed
1 pound of top sirloin steak cut in cubes/strips
3 cups of broccoli florets
1 red onion thinly sliced
2 medium carrots shredded
1 Tbsp of “everything but the bagel seasoning” from Trader Joe’s or plain toasted sesame seeds
2 cups of sugar snap peas
1- In a medium bowl, combine the two sauces and the salt. Add the beef and mix well. Put to the side while you cut and cook the veggies.
2- In a skillet, heat the olive oil and add the garlic cloves. Once they start to change color, add the broccoli, onions, snap peas and the carrots. Stir occasionally for about 5 min transfer the veggies to a bowl.
3- Add 1/2 Tbsp of olive oil to the pan and add the beef. Cook for 2-3 min each side and add the veggies again. Stir-fry all together for another 2 min and sprinkle with the “everything but the bagel” seasoning before serving.
